About Us

Welcome to Mesoamerican Bio,
where tradition meets sustainability.

Hi, I’m Lorenzo Sánchez, founder of Mesoamerican BIO.

I grew up in Playa Vicente, Veracruz, surrounded by traditions and with a deep love for the land.

After I moved Oslo I felt like a part of me was missing and when I found cacao I also found a way to stay connected to my roots, the land and the rich heritage of Mexico; Thanks to cacao I can work now on filling that emptiness I once felt.

We work with small-scale producers in
México, like the Vila Contreras family, who have been cultivating cacao for nearly 200 years, respecting biodiversity and preserving unique traditions.

This mission was born from my desire to stay connected to my roots and share the authentic flavor of Mexican cacao with the world.

Our goal is to protect the land, support the communities that cultivate it, and ensure that every cacao bean tells a story of sustainability, dedication, and love for nature.

FAMILIA VILA CONTRERAS

Our Cacao Producers

We are extremely fortunate and proud to collaborate with Hacienda Napana in Chiapas México; Rafael Vila and Martha Contreras who together with their two young dauthers Andrea and Elena are the guardians of a tradition that has been in their family for nearly 200 years, they are the 9th and 10th generation of cacao producers.

Their cacao has won several awards in México and in Latin America and today they produce some of the finest agroforestry cacao in the region.

We are so lucky to be able to bring their exquisite cacao from the lushy mexican jungles to Scadinavia.

Ama la vida, come cacao agroforestal!
